Rummage Runway - “New York Style

A record number of guests poured into the Elsinore Woman’s Club on January 30th for the third annual Rummage Runway Fashion Show. Done in New York style this year the Time Square and Central Park scenes were done by local artist and current EWC President Robin Golden, which set the stage for a great show.

The local Jazz club performed a 5 piece group for the scene at the New York Jazz Club, while member Ginger Harris read a Poem by Rod McKuen “The day they built the Road”. Five members, including Linda Compos who did the choreography for the number, Beverly Murbach, Eva Lopez, Karen Pierson and Michele Knowles performed a great dance to Lullaby of Broadway for the Radio City Music Hall scene. Allen Baldwin and Reggie Kramer played the couple on tour in NY City, while Carol Pollock played the “Bag Lady” and Ann Marshall stepped in at the last minute to play the “Tourist” after a member had to cancel.

The luncheon was organized and served by “Judy’s Deli” member Judy Gugliemana and her volunteer crew. People could not stop raving about the food. Of course, after the show all the model’s fashions were for sale along with other quality rummage. Co-Chairs Carol Pollock and Holly Baldwin said they had a ball putting the whole thing together and can’t wait till next year!

…and, best of all, over $3,500 was raised with much of that going to local college scholarships.

Elsinore Woman's Club Dances Through The Decades

The Elsinore Woman's Club celebrated Valentines Day in style last Saturday February 13th. With the dance theme "Dancing through the Decades", couples were invited to partake in great music spanning from the 50's through the 90's.

Throughout the evening party goers could do the Twist, sway to the Beatles, or dance to more current country hits. The décor included valentines, hearts, candies, lace, and endless chocolates, all of which were made by the members and donated. Chocolate treats from cookies to fruit kabobs with nuts and chocolate were offered.

A wonderful champagne and beer bar was ready and waiting to cleanse the pallet from all the delicious treats. An added service for evening were couple photo's taken by Rockwell Anderson Studio's, complete with a special rose back drop painted by the Woman's Club President Robin Golden.

Many members offered their time and assistance in making this event and its other events a great success. The Elsinore Woman's Club is a community asset offering many volunteer opportunities in the community, networking for local business people, and has many events open to the public. The Woman's Club has open arms to anyone who wishes to be a guest or become a member.
